My Favorite Place: The Red Dot Country

Marina Bay and skyline of Singapore

My favorite place on Earth is Singapore. I like to call it the Red Dot Country because it is so tiny. I spent a month there two summers ago and fell in love with the beauty. It is the cleanest country! You will find no trash on the streets and no chewing gum being sold in the entire country! (Luckily, you can just go 30 minutes over to Malaysia and get some.) The official language is technically considered Malay but only Malaysian descent knows Malay. Instead, it is a giant melting pot of Asia! The people are very kind and show great hospitality. One of my most favorite trips!

  1. Oh, this is great: I have never been to Singapore but I am sure I would enjoy it so much... FOOD. I would want to try ALL the food! And here is a bit of Sanskrit trivia for you: the name Singapore goes back to Sanskrit - Singapore: Lion City - there's a picture of a famous fountain there in the linked post. Did you get to see that? In addition to eating all the food, I would want to see that fountain for sure. I hope you will get to go back again someday! After doing this class, you will see lots of art there that is inspired by the epics!

    1. Oh, the food was fantastic! The ONLY thing I did not like was fish head soup with curry and that was because I accidentally ate an eyeball! Yuck! The Lion was AWESOME! I did get to see the famous Lion. They are really proud of it. There is actually a "girl lion" we were told on Santosa Beach. We got to see that one too. It was all so neat, and I will definitely be going back. Such a cool experience!
